The secret to some of the best world-class presentations and how I model my own keynotes is that I source the following: 1?? Personal story to make an emotional and relatable connection 2?? Cite industry data and statistics to persuade with evidence 3?? Case studies to show the theories or concepts in successful action 4?? Media to showcase graphs, quotes, summaries and more, where I can cite legitimate thought leaders and experts in the field to validate my own presentation 5?? Finally, I poll the audience and get their take, either before my talk, during the talk or using a live-poll software like Kahoot. It's a great way to be memorable too.

My secret to finding the best sources for presentations / webinars is 'MY LIFE ITSELF' In the first place we are chosen to deliver then is because we are considered to have the knowledge on the topic based on our experience professionally or personally so I believe 'ONE MUST TEACH ONLY WHAT LIFE HAS TAUGHT US.' So real life eg. that talk about my series of failures leading to success. I also evaluate the audience that I'm presenting to, if its the youth then I definitely focus on sharing my failure stories with them first because the fact that Im presenting to them is already talking big about my success, what they don't know is the journey behind it. Having done over 1,000 keynotes around the world, I've kept up a database of all my favourite quotes, statistics and case studies. At the same time, I update some of the stats and case studies as time goes on.

I read a lot, and every time I find something interesting, I capture it somehow and tag with a word I can search for later. There are many plugins that sit at the top of your browser. You can click one and send the link/content directly to a particular location. e.g. Send to OneNote (or Evernote or Notion, etc.). Keyword searches handled the rest. After writing an important document, I make sure I include it in a "keep" folder to reference later.

When I use someone else's work or ideas, I make it a point to give them credit. It not only avoids plagiarism but also adds credibility to my content. I agree with the importance of following a consistent citation style, whether it's APA, MLA, or another format, to maintain clarity and professionalism. It makes putting together a presentation a lot easier and faster for me, giving me the liberty to focus more on the content of my presentation than on the design process. Also, it means I have over time identified the most engaging ways to translate information to my audience - which is a win for everyone.

My sources are the foundation of my content, so I need to be able to find the information I need quickly and easily. I've recently become a big fan of the tool Notion. It's a powerful tool that allows me to capture, organize, and collaborate on my work in a single place. I'm using it to replace OneNote as my go-to tool for storing and managing my sources. Regardless of the tool you choose: - Be sure it allows you to label and categorize your sources. - Make sure it is a help to you in keeping data points updated/fresh. - It needs the ability to capture visuals of your source information (infographics, etc).

Here are a few things I do. - Set a schedule for updating sources, I do it quarterly and mark it in my calendar - I keep sources in a Google sheet (to keep current) and for easy access to other presentations - Google alerts on key topics in case there is better data - In doing quarterly reviews I make sure the source still addresses the topic

Look back on History! Some of the best sources that offer examples are found when you find individuals who found success using techniques and ideas that you are presenting. Not only could your audience be vaguely familiar, you will find they will be interested in how it connects. Learning from others is a valuable tool for presentations. It could be a recognized person, a successful business of the past or a historic event.

I think the ideas mentioned are great resources however it can easily get overwhelming and you can lose your audience. I would consider: 1?? Keep it simple - find a balance of content of personal stories and sources to back up your message but consider less is more….don't dilute a great message 2?? Know your audience- what do they need? 3?? Be ?? authentic- speak from the heart and your passion will come through.
