The project scope stems primarily from the clients Vision, Objectives and Brand. The steps to achieving this will be the fruit of a detailed brief from the client through intensive discussions and interactions outlining their expectations. The budget is then determined based on the detailed design which has been approved and signed off by the client. This can thereafter be reviewed based on whether it is within the clients projected budget and value engineered to an acceptable and approved budget. This can be achieved by reviewing the scope and design as well as finding the most cost effective ways to achieve the project goals. This then informs the contract scope and budget for the project.

To succeed in scoping and budgeting for any kind of project, including commercial projects, follow the steps and tips below: 1- Clarify the requirements with key stakeholders and the project owner, obtaining approval for each detail. It's preferable to document everything in this stage with signed approval. 2-Prepare a management scope plan; it will be your personal guide during the stage of scoping your project.
