Supporting your EBP efforts can be done through the use of various resources, both online and within your organization. Evidence-based databases, such as Cochrane Library, PubMed, and CINAHL, are online repositories that contain systematic reviews, meta-analyses, guidelines, and other sources of synthesized evidence on various topics and disciplines. Additionally, evidence-based tools like PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) question builder, Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) checklists, and GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) system are available to help you access, appraise and apply the evidence. Lastly, evidence-based networks like Evidence-Based Patient Advocacy Network (EBPAN), Evidence-Based Patient Advocacy Collaborative (EBPAC), and Evidence-Based Patient Advocacy Forum (EBPAF) provide online or offline communities to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experience and best practices among patient advocates and other professionals.
