What's the secret to writing a killer blog post?

I once read a blog article that had multiple subjects targeted & I just couldn't get the point of it. When you write a blog, you need to ensure the reason, the concept, the message you want to convey, are all straight forward directed to your reader. A clear focus and a clear purpose will get you the right audience.

With my background in pharmacovigilance and a Masters in Pharmacology, I've tapped into a goldmine of patient insights, comparable to market research for bloggers. Speaking directly with patients has given me a unique window into their concerns, equipping me with firsthand knowledge that many bloggers lack. This isn't just academic knowledge; it's real-world understanding. When I write, I'm not guessing what my audience needs — I've heard it directly from them. Just as market research drives business strategy, my interactions and expertise drive the authenticity and relevance of my blog posts, making them resonate powerfully with readers.

To write a killer blog post, I always do these 5 things: - Define my purpose and target audience. - Conduct thorough research and gather relevant information. - Create a compelling headline and structure my post effectively. - Write in a conversational tone and use strong visuals. - Proofread, edit, and promote my post.

I usually start my blogs with a catchy paragraph that has a summary of everything that I'm going to write about so people can decide if or not to read the rest. Just trying to save some of their time. I ensure not to make it monotonous and to the point of making the readers indulge in reading the whole piece.

My favourite way to write a neat blog is "listicles". This is my point of view that when I read other blogs, I find them interesting when they are written in short sentences, or rather in lists or bullet points. It helps me understand the article better than long paragraphs.

Remember how we used to find those comics captivating to read?? Why? Because, it had visuals that depicted characters well and gave us an emotion to be able to relate with the story as if we were living it. Images do half the part of a successful article.

In my opinion, The most important aspect of a blogpost is its readability. Have your content flow in a perfect manner, so that once the reader is hooked through your well-chosen hook, he stops only at the end of the post without having felt the pinch of the length of your post. Once his attention is diverted, you have lost your audience!
