Top ways to receive feedback on your job search? Know that your mental health will take a beating during your job search, ie. Self Worth/Self Esteem/Self Confidence. Talk about this with others. You need feedback on this. Why? To get outside your head and have others pump/prop you up. I know this!! I live with and manage ( not always manage very well ) depression and anxiety. MY mental health takes a beating during my job search. So, I get it!!

Getting advice and feedback is not a weakness it is a strength that many do not leverage. ?? THE best place to receive feedback, especially for those attempting career advancement, a career pivot, or a career change, is a person who hires for the role you seek (hiring manager) or is currently performing the role you seek. This is why networking and informational interviewing can be some of the best tools in your job search toolbox! So do not be afraid to use them.

Seek advice from mentors or industry professionals on your resume, cover letter, and interview techniques. 3. Job search groups may provide you with networking opportunities, feedback, learning opportunities, the chance to share things that work, or to get advice from people who have tried something that worked for them.

LinkedIn and Meetup offer valuable resources for online resource groups that provide instruction for successful job searching.

Just because you haven’t landed the job, doesn’t mean that you aren’t making progress. This is the “look in the mirror”: If you are getting interview but not offers, then your resume and cover letter are doing their job, and you need more work on interview practice. No interviews, be honest about your resume. Are you sending the same resume to every position or targeting your resume and cover letter to each? Applying to less, but with more effort will yield better results. How many jobs are you applying to? Too little/too many? My clients are highly successful with applying to 4-8 jobs a week. Do you have a professional LinkedIn profile? Look at where you were, the improvements you have made, and celebrate your progress.

Track everything during your job search. Keep tabs on which jobs you've applied to, how many interviews you had, any feedback you received, and who you spoke to. You need to be strategic in finding success in your job search. This is critically important.

Record yourself responding to interview questions. Look at your mannerisms, hand movements, eye contact, and energy. That is the 1# soft skill I hear from recruiters. Also, LinkedIn has an AI program where you can practice mock interviews and the AI will give you precise feedback.
