In my experience, 12d Model software is one of the best 3D modeling tools due to its great versatility in civil engineering design applications. These include roads, railways, earthworks, drainage, water, sewer, drafting, quantity takeoffs, visualisations, clash detection, simulations and more. It also offers excellent input/output compatibility with other software, such as your Autodesk Suites (Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, etc.) for interoperability. While the user interface might be a bit daunting at the start, 12d Model is no doubt a powerful engineering tool overall once you get familiar with it. I see no reason why it couldn't be used more widely in other countries as well.

Autodesk Civil 3D is the ultimate. I have been an expert on 12D and Microstation before but Civil 3D is the easiest to use and fully integrated with Autocad. When you purchase a Civil 3D licence yuo get Autocad and Map and several other software packaged together for one price. with other software you pay way more for the software plus you still need to buy an Autocad or Mocrostation license to be able to deliver drawings. It's a no brainer to use Civil 3D.

For 2D Drafting AutoCAD from Autodesk is the leader which is mostly used in the industry. However, alternate tools like Microstation are also being used.
