Quality Checklists are the easiest and safest way to have a person double check their own work. They act as a fail safe to ones memory, it's the simplest and easiest way to make sure scope and quality has been achieved and allow the person to move to a new task.

Quality checklists should be for all stages of work. The maker (team who is executing the work) would check their own work against pre established check points. For critical works there can be a checker, who validates the work done by maker, often using same checklist. With smart phones and cloud technology the checklists are on the finger tips of makers and checkers making it super convenient and speedy. If you are unable to correlate data to present these risks in real time you will continuously become reactive. The best use case I can think to share is the need for us to react swiftly in regard to our national security. If an outside threat attacks us we don’t have much time to respond. Quality is not a one step process or the work of only the quality department. It starts with the finalization of specs, appointment of suitable vendor for the job, proper execution and supervision of the work, attending the snags till handing over. It is the responsibility of all the stakeholders involved in the project execution. Even the person doing the curing also play a significant role.

Quality is the most important aspect of any construction project. Quality construction gives us great structures which last longer & are sustainable over their lifespan. More importantly quality gives us the satisfaction of doing good. A feel-good factor that is so important for our own satisfaction! There is no replacement for knowledge experience when it comes to effectively execute all the laid out and written procedures even to follow regulations.
