Most traditional tool yet effective. Obviously it has got data limitations but with the right logic and formulas data can be compressed. One can also reduce the redundant data through alteryx and do analysis for alteryx output on Excel. Power pivot is one of the great features to do analysis for various measures / criteria. Easier to present, most user friendly and widely accepted.

I started data analysis using microsoft excel. It's a great tool specially for beginners. It's an amazing training ground to move on from simple pivot tables to power pivot then to power query to powerBI.

One thing I found helpful is R has tools such as quarto that make it easier to share your code and also create interactive and static visualizations.

Python has various number of libraries which helps to read , manipulate and analyse big data efficiently. In addition matplotlib, seaborn and plotly libraries make python perfect choice for data visualzation as well. Finaly ML and deep learning libraries which are easy to work on them makes python as perfect choice for Data Analytics and Data Science.

Tableau is definitely easy to use, navigate and present. It's easy to learn and apply the formulas. Also, reports can be automated and shared with the stakeholders on a real time basis

This can be a valuable asset in your research process. I like the visualizations and the simplicity of using this program. I have found it easier to use for PHD research than SPSS. SPSS does have its time and place but for visualizations this is much better.

For PhD research, many universities still use SPSS. It can feel a little clunky, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually a really good program if you need research statistics.

During my undergraduate days, SPSS was my go-to tool for statistical data analysis due to its simple and user-friendly interface. When I needed to test hypotheses for my final year project using correlation and regression, SPSS was a lifesaver. Therefore, it stands as a powerful tool for quantitative data analysis.

As a regular user of Power BI, I firmly believe that this tool surpasses the aforementioned alternatives and would like to add it to the list. Its relatively easier UI , combined with the ability to perform advanced analyses through integration with R and Python(two considered options), makes Power BI exceptionally versatile and powerful.
