What text data cleaning techniques are most effective?

Text cleaning depends on type of dataset,report and KPI's being used in the report but below are few techniques i follow -Handling of Whitespaces -Text Normalization - Removing or filtering or replacing null values but this again depends on the requirement -Converting data type e.g. if data is available as true or faluse then i can define it as Boolean -Removing or Replacing sepecial characters
