What are some new teaching tools for the modern classroom?

While I am beyond excited by the advances that VR has made in the past few years, and I am excited to implement it in the classroom at some point I have yet to find a solution that I find robust enough to roll out and add value in my classes. But the potential is there and the hardware needed for the user experience feels like it is not far off. The content side of the equation is already in place, and that is exciting. I have seen some of the immersive environments that have been created with an education focus, and they are unreal.

I've integrated virtual reality (VR) technology into my lessons to transport students to immersive, interactive environments that bring abstract concepts to life. With platforms like Google Expeditions or Oculus Education, I can take my students on virtual field trips to historical landmarks, scientific simulations, or cultural exhibits. By experiencing concepts firsthand, my students develop a deeper understanding of complex topics and cultivate empathy for diverse perspectives. VR fosters collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as students navigate virtual environments and interact with digital content.

During the pandemic I used Google's Jamboard for interactive teaching. I could: * Create slides for each student with his/her name. This allowed them to complete their own work while I monitored in real time. * Allow students to write their answers on sticky notes and use the different functions of the tool. * Manipulate objects I put on the board to put in their correct spaces. The kids loved the interaction. They felt like teachers too which made the experience fun for them.

I use the interactive whiteboard to create engaging lessons in my classrooms. I play videos, songs, notes(texts) and PPT slides to reinforce learning.

I love the interactive whiteboard because it allows me to break down works of art in a very detailed way. Sometimes I almost feel like a sports analysis breaking down a play. It give me a fun and engaging way to highlight techniques to my students and has been an invaluable tool in my classroom.

A good LMS adds a ton of value for teachers. it not only allows you to manage your course content and delivery it with efficiency but it also opens up a world of automation that can alleviate a lot of the workload on the backend of being a teacher.

LMS is a good tool that makes learning more interactive and effective for learners in eLearning. Teaching is way easier with LMS as you can insert video links using LMS and other related sources that can enhance/boost learning.

Google Classroom and Class Dojo gives me the opportunity to create, distribute, and manage instructional content, monitor my student participation, and assess performance even anytime and anywhere.

Kids love games. There are cool quizzes that you can design to help kids have fun while learning. I've used Kahoot which is fun and interactive. - They can choose an avatar and make it look crazy. - Make up cool names. - Compete in a fun way. You design the quiz with different types of questions. They answer. The faster they do it the more points they score. They can keep track of a leaderboard and you can ask more questions and give explanations as the quiz goes on.

My students enjoy Blooket. Students play a game racing each other to finish first. As their game character runs out of energy, they must answer questions correctly to gain enough energy to get ahead of other players or stay ahead. I also enjoy quizizz when I want my students more focused on learning than playing the game. These tools make learning more enjoyable.

I've incorporated gamification tools like Classcraft, Kahoot!, or Minecraft: Education Edition into my lessons to make learning interactive and fun. By gamifying quizzes, challenges, and collaborative activities, I motivate my students to actively participate, persist through challenges, and strive for mastery. I will often implement a leaderboard in my classes for online projects and assignments. I find the students get really engaged in the idea of outdoing their classmates and will often put in a lot of extra work to get to the top.

Incorporating gamification and play-based pedagogy can encourage students to participate enthusiastically and learn in an interesting and enjoyable way. Use of leaderboards, and incentives like badges, and points can motivate students to perform better. You can design challenges, that require students to complete a task, or solve a problem. After successful completion, they earn awards and unlock new levels. This creates a positive atmosphere for healthy competition. You can use various platforms such as kahoot, Classcraft, Duolingo, Prodigy, or Minecraft to enhance productivity by turning learning into a game. To inculcate positive behaviour you can use Class Dojo, which is a behaviour management tool. Let students play to learn.

AR is the area I have been most interested in for education in my classes. I dream of implementing an AR environment that allows my students to create collaborative artifacts in a digital environment without having to sit in front of a screen. I have yet to find the perfect tech for this, but I am on the search.

Who doesn't love games? As we know the concentration of students will sustain only till maximum 20 min. To enhance the attention and learning capacity of students I have included activities in each and every class 1. Image guessing game: by combination of images guessing the word related to subject and technologies. 2. Story telling: by giving word to each group of students to narrate the story including that word. 3. Role play : generate script to explain the concept through play. 4. Quiz app: using quiz applications to refresh the concepts of the subjects. There are many interactive applications like @kahoot, @quizziz, @ jeopardylabs.com, @ mentimeter and many more. 5. Presentation: students present on topics beyond curriculum.
