Los makerspaces representan un eje clave en la cinética de las bibliotecas para dejar de ser espacios pasivos y convertirse en espacios activos. El desarrollo exponencial de la tecnología y la democratización de las técnicas suponen que el actual concepto de "Ilustración" camine de la mano de lógicas DIY, hacker y el código abierto. We love to state that libraries are "meeting points" for citizens. Why not then conceive them as transgenerational spaces always open to every age of visitors? And even better, what if we dispose them strategically to mix clients of different demoscopic samples at the same time? Departing from the collection and running a slight reflection on the way we prompt it to our costumers, the scope to develop our activities and contents, the UX and targets of our services, the design of our library spaces and their potential use... It is easier than we think to put together into action different age public and the fostered social cohesiveness and community shaping rewards are not desensible. So... Mix, mix, mix

Make sure to have displays directed at all ages that a library has users. If possible, you can combine materials meant for various age levels in one display. If a display’s theme covers a wide age range, do include materials suitable for all ages in that range- such as a children’s display including everything from easy picture books for preschoolers to longer chapter books for middle grades; or an adult display featuring books for young, middle aged, and senior adults.
