This will help you find the things you are good at and are truly passionate about. Hopefully, they will help you achieve the financial goals in life as well.
When I was a recent college graduate, I started volunteering in a variety of organizations, including a community arts non-profit, a local political campaign, and an agricultural co-op. I made contacts, gained experience, and even got paid (surprise!) a couple of times. I think students need opportunities to explore their interests beyond the classroom, and volunteering, even a few hours per week, can provide that.
1) Understand that you will be pretty much on your own for handing in assignments and writing your papers. You will be treated as an adult now. 2) First impressions actually do count. There is a saying "Who you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what you are saying". Present yourself in a manner that others will be compelled to listen to you. 3) Chances are pretty y good that college will not prepare you for the real world of work-not much you can do about that, just sharing a reality. 4) Internships in the field of interest are the best preparation possible. You might discover this is truly for me, or, wow! I had no idea and I hate this!!
You can explore how your interests and personal goals align with the organisation's values and ethos. Is there a road map to follow? Is there information about different professions and early years talent available? With further learning, explore whether course fees are involved, the cost of learning resources, e.g., a laptop and access to online learning content, and the destination outcome for learning institutions and their student cohorts. Could you speak to family members, friends, and contacts to share their insights and thoughts? Explore the different pathways to work, e.g. apprenticeships or full-time study. Attend job fairs, meet local recruiting employers, build rapport with the hiring teams. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Specifically tp prepare for the workforce students can study part time while following an internship at industry they are interested, in their latter part of the study program.

Seek to learn the basics well to navigate more securely, such as learning to write first, fostering your ideas on paper. In technological times, this is becoming obsolete and can have a significant impact on writing and reading.
Don't be afraid to take on challenges. There are many resources (online, through your school, through parents, public library etc) to help you with subjects and concepts that you may struggle with. And most of all, don't be afraid to ask for help with something that is difficult for you.

These include communication, collaboration, creativity, and self-management skills that are vital for working with others and adapting to different situations. Personal skills are very important as much as academic and technical skills. In today's world, teams are dispersed across the globe and team members come from different backgrounds. Effective communication, time management, coping with stress and teamwork are very important in modern world, especially in Information Technology related occupations. Furthermore, personal skills will play a pivotal role when you climb up the corporate ladder.
It’s imperative that one develops a more global view of the world and life. They must know that, in the work place, they will work with people of different races, cultures, beliefs, etc. They need to be able to get along with others. Also, remember, that YOU applied and asked for the job. They did not offer you VIP status nor did they tell you that the company revolved around you and your opinions. You must be compliant to the rules and policies of the company that granted you employment.
I think with the right encouragement my students start to transition into technicians of their creative talents. They become confident in their abilities and that in it self allows them to experiment further. We actively promote them to seek outside sources to increase their independent learning as by doing is always the best way to learn whilst at the same time they are building the network foundations.

Any experience you can get in an interview and working will benefit them tremendously. We learn best by doing actual jobs. Also, use older people as an asset and talk with them about advice.

This can be incredibly valuable regardless of whether you are planning on college, a vocational career, military service, or if you are not yet decided on what path you wish to take after high school. Regardless, this experience can really help you with not only connections, but building skills and confidence.
My daughter began her work experience while in college. Part-time jobs and internships provided her with great experiences that placed her with her first real job. That job led to her current career path. She did not turn down an opportunity to develop new skills and connections. As a result, previous coworkers and supervisors have contacted her to come work with them or in another department within the companies where they currently work. She developed a reputation for having a great work ethic and as a team player in her field of expertise. My advise? Look for opportunities and develop relationships based on your reputation.

All I read here is absolutely wonderful and would help to a lot. Over the years, I have found, to my benefit, that in addition to building academic, mental and social skills, one must also build spiritual capacity because man is, first and foremost, a spiritual being. It is of the utmost importance to place a high premium on establishing as well as maintaining a healthy, thriving relationship with the Almighty God, our Creator, through His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. It is important to talk to Him daily. To obey Him. To listen to His voice for guidance and direction as we navigate through life. Building the ability to communicate one's intelligent ideas with clarity and confidence will, undoubtedly, work wonders for one.
A piece of advice that has served me well is to see value in lifelong learning. No matter what career path you choose, being open to learning and growing throughout your life is very helpful. Periodically reflect upon strengths and areas for improvement. Seek feedback from others who can provide insight from a fresh set of eyes. Seek out formal and informal opportunities for purposeful professional development. Take advantage of resources in your community, such as the public library, local colleges/universities, nonprofit organizations, etc that can provide education and training in various areas.
Start early in developing strong communication skills. These should be both verbal and written. Seek out opportunities to fine tune public speaking and professional writing.
You should consider the ACT Workkeys and the ASVAB. Any and all career explorations, where high paying jobs are available, should be on the discussion board.

Develop a work ethic that is consistent in striving for excellence yet adaptable and open to other people’s ideas. No individual has all the answers and/or is always correct. There will be let downs, failures, and disappointments. There are also support systems, successes, and triumphs. All are a part of life.
Become a problem-solver. Anytime you are challenged with a problem, think of at least two possible solutions. Avoid complaining about the challenges you are facing, a whiner is a burden in the workforce.
