The worst thing for management to do for morale, is to solicit feedback and ideas, act like they are interested, but then do little or nothing to make improvements. Or just pay lip service but not invest money and/or staff into an initiative. Employees understand that some ideas may not be feasible or realistic. Employees also are keenly aware when management is just going through the motions and just trying to placate, rather than actually hear what people are saying and using that information to solve problems.
