I agree that the best way to handle conflict in general is to recognize the source, but I find that personal issues need to be addressed more firmly than professional issues. The facts will always validate a professional issue but it's not the case with personal issues as often, they are not so easily identifiable

I usually try to keep the communication relevant to what needs to be accomplished, how it needs to be accomplished and who is best qualified to accomplish the goal. That said, you can never underestimate how much time could be wasted dealing with someone who is insecure and is likely to adopt a defensive position.

La comunicación es la clave de un buen equipo. Ser claros y efectivos en la comunicación no requiere que existan faltas de respeto o malos tratos. Y para ello se requiere de la empatía y la escucha activa, siempre que nos comuniquemos con otra persona debemos hacer un trabajo fundamental que es encontrar la manera y las palabras para que esa persona pueda entendernos; y por el otro lado dar espacio para que la otra persona pueda también dar su opinión sin interrupciones y mostrando con humildad que realmente se está escuchando lo que dice.

En la mayoría de veces, en reuniones que a prioiri se tratan temas "sencillos" terminan siendo un dolor de cabeza para alta gerencia, donde priman lo egos y las posturas firmes de todos. lo recomendable es siempre tener la calma y no actuar con emociones.

Communication is key when trying to solve a conflict of reasoning. Also, tone & interruptions can never be used because the other person can use that against you to hr (if you have a hr department). The parties have to put their feelings aside to get the goal/job done.

Para la búsqueda de soluciones existen infinidad de técnicas y metodologías grupales que permiten que cada persona pueda formar parte activa del proceso de decisión. Algunas son: brainstorming, buzz groups, mind-mapping, multi-voting, possitive-negative-interesting exercise; entre otras. Según la problemática y el grupo puede seleccionarse la correspondiente. Para los casos de desacuerdo, las metodologías de multi-voting o possitive-negative-interesting exercise son muy efectivas ya que permiten escuchar todas las voces y lograr un consenso de manera simple.

Todos los colabores de cualquier organizacion, buscamos ese bienestar y tener nuevas ideas para conseguir objetivos que se plantean al inicio de un ciclo. La filosofia Kaisen es una buena idea para tener empapados a todos, para de esta manera tener mayores probabilidades de éxito. Desde la persona que tenga el puesto en orden jerárquico mas bajo, hasta que tenga el mayor son opiniones valederas.

Una vez definida la solución, una parte sumamente importante y que muchas veces no se realiza es la implementación. Para lograrla se requiere de un Plan de Acción, que debe tener en cuenta tiempos, recursos, responsables, objetivos, etc. Al finalizar el plan de acción, y teniendo como objetivo la mejora continua, es importante contar con un tiempo de evaluación. Es decir observar objetivamente qué se hizo y cómo se hizo, de manera que frente a un caso similar se puede replicar o mejorar el procedimiento.

Los errores, fallas o conflictos deben entenderse como parte de un proceso de aprendizaje. Son esos hitos que nos alertan y nos mantienen activos para mejorar cada vez más. Se deben pensar como desafíos y no con un carga negativa. Los procesos de tomas de decisión deben ser iterantes, aprender constantemente y re-pensar formas de accionar.

Como dice el dicho. De los errores de aprende, y en una organización el crecimiento profesional va a partir de las falencias que detectamos y que obviamente hacemos algo para solucionarlas.

Keep in mind that generational differences play a big part in how someone may handle a brainstorming session... Being "Gen X" I am self-aware enough to know that younger colleagues are usually more open to my suggestions as long as I can validate them, while older colleagues tend to question beyond the point when most of the group has reached an agreeement.
