I have had to deal with jealousy and fear at work many times. Sometimes educators can get very territorial and see their classrooms as theirs 24/7. My mom went through this as well listened to what she went through and when I ran into this, I sat down with a teacher who had lots of experience but did not have the level of education that I had gained. A master's degree can scare a lot of people and I left this off the table many times when I discussed things with this particular person. She and I did learn how to get along for the sake of the children, but she continued to find ways to make my time working with her a challenge. Since I do love a challenge, I watched her and followed her lead while continuing to become more confident.

In education, there is never just one way. It's more about preference than it is about right or wrong. Some of the most respected teachers I know I had philosophical differences with about education. What was fascinating was to sit in a class or two. See what the dynamics there and what drives students in that environment. Chances are you will take something away. Go to the teachers you disagree with, but respect, and ask them to give you feedback about your course. Not just generic feedback, though, have a specific element you want them to focus on, perhaps something in their wheelhouse. Most likely if you are an effective teacher, it won't be big things, but instead, it will be the small things you tweak based on that feedback.
