For collaboration, we have various tools at hand but keep a fair balance of meetings in a day. Webex /slack meets shall not be overwhelming. Also, instead of optional team coffee connects another proposal is to have a hobby lobby with various themes like cricket, crypto, books etc etc so that people may choose basis their interest and the participation is also limited so that a group with similar interests can collaborate and interact more

In my experience the workplace has been virtual for some time. We can attend WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams meetings from any locations. One company I worked for even removed assigned work spaces -the last time I went onsite. That was my first amazement and shock not having a cubicle assigned to me. My backpack had my laptop, creature comforts-snacks etc. I worked with teams all over the world -effectively and efficiently. I carried my ergo keyboard. We were all under management directives and visions: to me, adaptability is just get the job done. We all performed and collaborated to get the job done. There are collaborative tools like Miro for team collaboration to draw workflows with international teams. Miro got us all in the same room.

People tend to be much more responsive and have a significantly better ability with problem solving and being proactive.

This focusses on getting the necessary stakeholder buy-in during the project and developing a shared vision or goal so that everyone is focussed on the success of the overall project. Managing the stakeholders well can help to build adaptability especially in remote environments by getting everyone together on calls and reminding them about the goal of the project. It would ensure success of the project with the high influence stakeholders rallying behind it.

To build adaptability in a remote business environment, the easiest way is to start from oneself - by being considerate towards others when the team members are facing some professional/ personal challenges, always communicate the purpose with expectations during the changing needs and fully integrate them as stakeholders, avoid micromanagement, having trust in them that they will eventually do the job within timelines and offering them guidance, if required.
