As most of the continuing education courses Acorn EnviroComply provides are a combination of internal developed and external trainings, incorporating multiple sources looks different. Internal courses allow our staff to add diverse research and perspectives directly into the course materials. This process requires more work as more sources are be reviewed and the material must meet our minimum standards. For external training materials, there isnt room for creativity or alternating the presentation. In these situations, diverse sources have to be included in the lecture. What's nice about this, is we get to draw from our participant's experience and increase engagement.

I like to have my students interview one another and then introduce the person they interviewed to the rest of the class. I give them ideas of what to ask but for the most part, allow them to freestyle this. Its a great way for students to learn about their peers, and even they know each other already, i guarantee they will learn something new.

In Singapore’s context, Continuing Education and Training (acronym: CET) is an important sector to help employees (especially those in sunset industries) transition to booming or emerging industries. Thus in any CET class, diverse learners/ students are expected, coming from varied backgrounds and having different experiences. Their unity is in their shared interest in getting certification for these skills and to grow in their competencies. This can be a pull factor to getting them to get through difficult moments.
