What are some of the current trends and opportunities in the vocal coaching market?

Online platforms are not really a new trend, a lot of people were already interested in online courses even before the pandemic. The trend is going away from standard things like group sessions or one direction trainings (books, audio, tutorials, video courses) because finally the value of interaction wether online live or in the same room has been recognized. It is the quality and efficiency which make the difference, also in terms of frequency, it has not to be one hour per week or something like that or even more to develop end empower a voice. It depends mainly on the experiences, impulses and the attention experienced during the sessions.

I've primarily utilized online platforms for vocal coaching, but I've encountered some limitations with certain ones. I'm eager to explore these suggested platforms to see if they can offer better results. While online platforms provide flexibility, nothing quite replaces the depth of connection and understanding that comes with in-person coaching. Being able to see and feel the effects comprehensively is invaluable. Nonetheless, I appreciate the convenience of being able to train with multiple countries in a single day.

What I learnt is that your niche will form itsself as you make yourself visible while you grow in your authenticity. When we start out it is more important to be clear on what client profile doesn't fit. The right people will find you.

This is really key in finding out who your clients are. Once you can find the sweet spot of the niche, the industry and the client, and their problems, than you can provide marketable solutions to ensuring longevous business partnerships !

Crafting a niche in vocal coaching is crucial for standing out. Focusing on audition success and performance resonance has been effective for me. By specializing in audition prep and performance techniques, I address common challenges. Defining a target demographic, like ages 12 to 25, helps tailor services and marketing. Consistently delivering value has allowed me to succeed in this competitive field.

This is essential and crucial while working with the voice as an instrument. A very common misunderstanding and a pity if singing will be reduced to tone production and good pitch. We are resonance bodies and as Vocalists somehow also actors with our voices, storytellers, so the approach has to be holistic, is not a nice to have. Voices do already change according to mood and emotions also while speaking. Now imagine those aspects flowing in the performances, how supporting and efficient it would be.

I recognize the importance of a holistic approach to vocal training. It's not just about singing better; it's about nurturing vocal health, confidence, and overall well-being. Drawing from personal experience, including my struggles with nodules, on our podcast, I bring on therapists, ENT doctors, and chiropractors to address various vocal challenges. By incorporating insights from anatomy, physiology, and psychology, I aim to provide listeners with valuable tools to maintain vocal health and overcome obstacles. I believe this comprehensive approach resonates with listeners and empowers them to prioritize their vocal well-being.

The damage done by TV shows like the Voice by promoting howling, yelling and screaming as a way to make music is immense. It leads the young generation to a path that will ruin their voice and it influences the public to accepting this sort of abuse of the vocal chords and the ears if the public as desirable. This promotes the wrong not the good, very much like they do in the news! It’s all about sensationalism and profit not designed to help the society. It is abuse of the greatness of music and the tremendous positive influence beautiful singing can have on the human soul especially for people suffering from stress. They promote the opposite and it does permanent damage to everybody both physically and socially. I condemn this trend.

That’s why I also founded a boutique flagship label which is not about signing other artists but to show, educate and support them in their journey for building their own efficient infrastructure to become professional artists/singers/songwriters.
