Ein ERP-System ist nur so gut, wie die Gesch?ftsprozesse dahinter. Beim Customizing individueller Reports eines Kunden fiel mir letztens auf, dass bestimmte Schritte bei der Berechnung strategisch wichtiger Zahlen undurchsichtig & unschlüssig waren. Au?erdem wurden Daten im ERP-System nicht immer korrekt hinterlegt. Zusammen mit dem Kunden konnten wir die Probleme eingrenzen und das Frontend soweit vom Workflow anpassen, dass wir 1. die Fehlertoleranz der manuellen Eingaben erheblich verringern und 2. unn?tige Schritte sogar durch Automatisierung entfernen konnten Der individuelle Report, den wir für den Anwender erstellt haben, konnte somit schneller bearbeitet werden. Dieser hilft dem Unternehmen, seine strategischen Ziele zu erreichen.

In my experience, the worst that can be done when implementing a new ERP system is trying to do the same things the old system was doing, only in a new one. There is somewhat a resistance to change and an adherence to "it was always this way" that hinders assessing processes top to bottom in a critical way. The second worst would be analyzing data and providing outputs without actually having a clear view what the users actually need and without tailoring the information presentation to these needs.

Denn hier verstecken sich oft Fehlerquellen, die die Ergebnisse negativ beeinflussen k?nnen. Diese m?glichen Fehlerquellen gilt es daher, zu identifizieren damit diese von vornherein mit ad?quaten Mitteln minimiert werden k?nnen. Eine gute Kommunikation ist die Grundlage jeder Zusammenarbeit. Das gilt auch bei der Implementierung eines ERP-Systems in einem Unternehmen. Noch wichtiger als die reine Kommunikation zwischen Dienstleister und Anwender an sich ist aber vor allem auch die Nachhaltigkeit dieser Kommunikation. Ich mache mir zum Beispiel regelm??ig zu jedem Meeting Besprechungsnotizen. So k?nnen offene oder unklare Punkte zum n?chsten Meeting mitgenommen und dort als erstes weiter besprochen werden. Weiterhin sollten Probleme immer konstruktiv angesprochen werden. Im Idealfall wird bei der Diskussion eine L?sung ausgearbeitet oder zumindest einen Ansatz. Fakt ist: Wer konkret und zielgerichtet kommuniziert, kann Prozesse im Unternehmen schneller optimieren.

Nach der Arbeit ist vor der Arbeit. Egal in welchem Unternehmenszweig man sich befindet. Mein Credo lautet deshalb: Bleib niemals an einem Punkt stehen. Schau immer nach vorne. So kommt es nicht selten vor, dass ich mich nach meiner regul?ren Arbeit zus?tzlich neuen Challenges stelle. Ich finde es wichtig, das Neue, das Unbekannte explizit zu suchen und sich neues Wissen anzueignen. Mein innerer Drang zieht mich immer zu aktuellen technologischen Neuerungen. Dabei suche ich mir in der Regel ein privates Projekt, für das ich diese selbst erlernen und einsetzen kann. Genau das wirkt sich auch positiv auf meine Arbeit mit unseren ERP-Kunden aus. For thinking critically an EPR professional should take reasonable time, even if they understood the problem on first instance they should not jump on any conclusion rather they should for a reasonable time. As things get more clear with time, discussion and evidence.

In ERP, wehave two types of professionals - Functional Consultant and Technical consultants. While functional consultants do gap analysis and business level requirements study, technical consultants write or modify codes. My answer is for functional consultants. Functional consultants need to improve their domain knowledge (certification courses will definitely help), attaend domain related seminars, do Benchmarking exercises in related domains and finally read white papers in the same domain. With advent of Generative AI, knwoledge of integration of domain with AI will become a necessity in the future.

Functional consultants or Business Analyst families 1. Should be able to understand and explain core business flows in simple lay man terms. 2. Map the process flows to data flows of related technologies (ex Modules and logical architecture) To do this, deep dive in domain is a must and ability to challenge process owners is next level thinking rather than following status quo on meeting technical feasibility needs for ERP implementations

Davon profitiere ich noch immer, denn ich verstehe seitdem, wie die Daten zusammenh?ngen, welche Prozess davon beeinflusst werden und worauf man achten sollte.
