That’s a pretty vanilla statement. The overall performance and longevity of the system is greatly improved when fluid cleanliness and temperature are properly managed. The design of the system is critical to success and must include key elements such as: A kidney loop circuit to constantly clean the oil when the duty cycle is less than 50% or when extreme conditions exist. Visual and electronic indication of filter clogging. An audible alarm with flashing light is optimal. Sample ports that are placed in the correct locations to allow for easy and regular sampling. Heat exchangers that are correctly sized to handle worst case conditions. The design of the system should also allow for ease of maintenance and regular cleaning.

In my experience, the main goals for a successful hydraulic system design are: -System integrity or NO LEAKS -System adaptability so flow and pressure controls are included with each branch, either manually or electronically. -Power unit level and temperature monitoring.
