I always discourage using thesaurus or paraphrasing tools as the paraphrased text may appear awkward. Think of paraphrasing as explaining given concept to your colleague in your own words.

One thing I always do when checking my work quality is leaving the final draft for a few days. Once I get back to it, I'm able to see errors and omissions more clearly. Also do use Grammarly for proofreading (and plagiarism check) at the very least.
