Having worked in HR in hotels for the past 30+ years, I would say that you have to be able to readapt and readjust quickly. You cannot be someone that does not deal well with change. It's an industry that does not stand still. With experience you become proactive so your reflexes kick in when you have to deal with the situation. In hotels the teams are very divserse and multi-cultural team, so very important that you adjust on how you communicate with your teams. Remember, communication includes listening. So remember to always listen, that's where you will find your direction and answers.

A lot of times we work with a pre-defined process on how to handle a situation. But many times this templatized approach doesn't work because the challenges themselves are evolving to come different with every year. So finding innovative solutions to the problems is critical.

Because you are responsible for training the staff on the art of service, and exceeding guest expectations, it would be beneficial to adopt that same approach when dealing with your internal guests, the employees of the hotel.

People Engagement skill is important in hospitality industry. Since mostly employee engaged with the guest and the rest who work at back office also always engaged with another department. Hospitality industry is a place where people serve other people, delight others and most importantly teaches us about respect, honesty, responsibility, integrity and humility.
