This is not necessarily true. Yes, there are large amounts of data that are generated. However, the vast majority of it is useless. For example, tags will ping "I'm here, I'm here ..." a thousand times a second. That is not valuable. Data becomes valuable as soon as the pings stop and we now need to understand that the object just left the antenna field. Analytics come afterwards when you identify patterns and need to move from observations in the field to business insights. Understanding the business context here is at least, if not more important than understanding the numbers.

Yes. It's more abstraction skills, really. Each audience has its unique perspectives, experiences, objectives and so on. You do not have to (and should not) explain the technology to a VP or CxO. Instead you need to speak their language and tell them about it in an abstracted way. This will encompass talking about business processes, efficiency gains, benefits, risks avoided and money saved, etc. Technical people on the other hand could care less and will want to talk about features and functions of soft- or hardware.

Absolutely. After 25 years of RFID implementations and research by now, this is becoming less of an necessity but is still relevant. What RFID should never do is "pave the cowpath" by just handing data capture more efficiently. Implementers and designers need to explore how the technology enabled new processes and business models that were previously impossible to achieve.
