The greatest challenge in data analysis in educational settings is population size. Internal analysis may look for trends and comparisons between cohorts and do so with some degree of certainty. However, class, demographic, or special group analyses may be based on a dataset of a few students. This is where qualitative data, such as lesson observations and student and teacher feedback, becomes essential. Combining qualitative data and using QDA techniques has little place in internal analyses as the responses are only significant for the relevant students and cannot be generalised. External research examining multiple institutions should also be viewed with caution as the context of institutions is not always comparable.

Over-generalization of results is a big risk in fields like education, healthcare, and now even AI-implementation. This is where data analysis and the robustness with which it is carried out can prevent flawed conclusions from being drawn and/or acted upon by policy-makers. If your sample size was small, acknowledge it clearly when interpreting the results; if your R-squared was low reiterate why even if your results are significant in the context of your model, they might not be generalizable. Acknowledging the limitations and delimitations of your research is the BIGGEST contribution that you can make to the literature where there are long term policy implications in balance.
