What are the risks of space tourism and how can you prepare for them?

Next to this, one should not forget the psychological effects due to the prolonged periods of isolation and confinement. The limited medical facilities in space can amplify the danger of medical emergencies; even the smallest issues can become life-threatening.

In my understanding the medical program should also be extended in order to understand post flight effects of high energy gamma radiations from solar flares and ionizing radiations. A thorough research on effect of radiation on the supplied food products should also be conducted to explicitly understand the impact on the nutritional value and growth of the fresh produce and supplies.

The creation of an effective bio-regenerative life support system will enhance space tourism. Bioregenerative Life Support Systems (BLSS) offer several benefits for sustainable and efficient space tourism, especially for long-duration space missions. The ability to recycle and renew essential resources like water, air, and food can be accomplished by creating plants as the base of the system to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen through photosynthesis, purify water through transpiration, and provide food. This reduces the need for resupply missions from Earth, which are costly and logistically challenging. These systems efficiently process plant/ human waste products, turning them into composted and recycled nutrients for plant growth.

There are several technical risks on the launch vehicle, space vehicle, and the return vehicle. To insured the safety of crew and passengers, NASA developed this criteria called "Human-Rated" design criteria to ensure the safety of vehicle and the people in them. To start, critical systems shall have double, or triple redundant systems so in case one of them failed, the "backup" system will ensure the function to be carry out. Also, increase the "design margin" safety factors to make sure structures and/or components can withstand much rigorous environment. This is an important aspect. A spacecraft emits a lot of gases when craft rise to space. Obviously that humans will throw trash in the space. That means the space will be contaminated in a long term. I dont agree with space tourism in this sense.

The recent loss of the commercial sub Titan that imploded while descending to visit the wreckage of the Titanic provides an analogy to space tourism. Did they have a clear understanding of the risks and waiver or acceptance of those risks? Inadequate testing of designs and safety obligations of the provider to the customers must be addressed. When are waivers of risk acceptable and when are they not? The space industry must reside what risk levels are acceptable (even with waivers) and which risk levels are too high to be acceptable.

Meiner Meinung nach ist es doch immer gleich am Anfang ist alles was neu ist Mega teuer. Sp?ter dann wenn es eingelaufen und nicht mehr so neu ist wird es billiger …für alle …was ich auch hoffen will….. Ich denke am Anfang ist es für sehr viele zu teuer aber zu einem sp?teren Zeitpunkt kann es erschwinglich werden. Hoffentlich bin ich da noch nicht zu alt. Au?erdem ist es gut für unsere Entwicklung neuer Techniken weil durch jede Aufgabe entwickeln sich neue Techniken es zu schaffen. Vielleicht erkunden wir bald den Weltraum wie bei startreck.

When the human is living in another environment, it can suffer too many health problems. Space isn't appropriate for human life. Therefore isn't good to keep a lot of time in this environment, even using special clothing .

Ich hab mich als kleines Kind schon entschlossen in Richtung Space zu arbeiten. Was ich auch geschafft habe. Weil ich schon nur das arbeiten an Projekten als für mich ein Riesiges Erlebnis ist. consider already known lessons learned and research studies, even from astronautical data, build a simulation #chess lab with attractions (food, arcade, etc.), and test the known against what's unknown to address outliers. what's the possibility of building such system in "space", utilizing interested, risk-ready and targeted human subjects? otherwise, how would you truly sell "tourism to space" to earthlings? #dinaeknox

Commercial aspect of the space tourism could lead to cutting of corners in the name of 'cost cutting' at the expense of safety (like in the case of Ocean Gate submarine), when profit becomes the focus point. So, there should be regulations and regular quality checks and audits in place to ensure safety.
