With no doubt, supply chain optimization and efficiency depend on sharing real time data and information between supply chain internal and external partners. and there are many forms where data can be shared through to have one aligned plan. For external partners it could be CPFR (Collaborative Planning Forecast and Replenishment) and here we consider the customer to be part of the forecasting and planning process and this could improve forecast accuracy, inventory optimization and customer service level. for internal partners: S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) which hard to explain in two lines but basically it brings one aligned plan of Demand and Supply Management teams with other stakeholders from finance, HR, etc..

But the challenging part; the customer needs to trust the vendor in order to give him the access and control of managing it as the vendor could misuse the customers data.
