2 PGA sockets

PGA stands for pin grid array, which is a type of socket that has a grid of holes on its surface, while the CPU has a matching grid of metal pins on its underside. This socket is commonly used by AMD processors, such as the Ryzen and Athlon series. PGA sockets are cheaper and simpler to manufacture, making them more cost-effective and easier to install and remove. Additionally, they are more compatible and flexible, as different generations of PGA sockets may have similar layouts and sizes. However, they have fewer contacts and lower bandwidth between the CPU and the motherboard, which can limit performance and features. 3 BGA sockets

BGA sockets are commonly used by low-power or mobile processors, such as the Atom and Celeron series. These sockets have several advantages, including a smaller footprint and lower profile which can save space and reduce weight in compact or portable devices; better thermal performance and lower power consumption which can enhance efficiency and battery life in low-power or mobile devices; and a more reliable and durable connection which can prevent loosening or disconnection due to vibration or shock in low-power or mobile devices. However, BGA sockets have some drawbacks too - they are impossible to upgrade or replace as the CPU is permanently soldered to the socket; they are more expensive and difficult to repair since the CPU and the socket have to be replaced together in case of failure or damage; and they have limited performance and features as they are designed for low-power or mobile applications and cannot support high-end or desktop processors.
