In my experience, Continuous delivery significantly reduces the risk associated with releasing new changes. By delivering updates more frequently, each package is smaller and thus easier to troubleshot in case of an issue. Continuous delivery has numerous benefits, though requiring a cultural shift in the organization and buy-in from all stakeholders.

Leveraging Feature flags as operational switches. If a feature is causing issues in production, it can be rapidly turned off, using the feature flag, without needing to roll back or redeploy the application. Feature flags though beneficial, introduce complexity and should be managed carefully. For instance, regularly clean up old flags and use a good naming convention so that flags are easy to understand and manage.

This shared responsibility encourages teams to work together to find solutions, rather than working in silos. Nevertheless, implementing DevOps is not just about using certain tools or following specific practices. In my experience a failure in one services does not directly impact other services. This isolation enhances the overall resilience of the application. Although microservices provide many advantages, they also bring more complexity in managing how different services work together, keeping data consistent, and handling extra operational tasks. So, it's important to carefully weigh the pros and cons before deciding to use a microservices system.

The thing that I have learnt with my experience is that, a maintainable and updateable software solution is the one which is developed by keeping modularity and abstraction in mind. Each part of solution is responsible for its own specific task. Each layer is exposed via abstraction and not dependent over concreate implementation. This will result in a more manageable, maintainable and open to extension codebase.
