From the perspective of a sales engagement pursuing a new contract, I would follow up with a thank you email and ask if there were any questions or additional services they might be interested in reviewing. I would let the perspective customer know that I was always available for them for any discussion. I would include, I'll be in touch with them in a few days and will get all of the task from our meeting completed. I always want to come out of a customer meeting/interview with a task list to keep customer engagement.

2 Follow up with the interviewer

Following up on the sales engagement, I will deliver the task list promised from the interview. I will bring any new solutions not discussed with the customer in the first interview. I will ask if I missed any topic they are interested in, and I will attempt to make another task list for a follow up meeting. At this second engagement, I will deliver a prior/current customer list for references. The list will be customers who have contracted the same or similar services as this new customer is seeking to purchase.

Whether or not the sales engagement was a successful closing of the contract, I would send a thank note for their consideration and a survey for feedback asking specific questions to figure out where in the engagement process, I won/lost their business. The results then will be feed into the continuous improvement process.
