SSMS(SQL Server Management Studio) tops the list of SQL query editors, it has template explorer to store oft-use queries along with query shortcuts(10) which I find very handy while diagnosing any object(tables, stored procedures, functions et al.) 2. SSMS Tools Pack is an add-in that saved me countless times to recall any script/s run in the past based on keyword/s as it records all the executed queries/statements. Also it generate/outputs data in the required format(SQL inserts, csv, .xls) and grid searchability is too useful when there are numerous columns for wild search. 3. Query Execution Plans: Another feature of SSMS to easily identify the poor performing SQL objects/statement/s. 4. TOAD and OraEdit are useful tools for PLSQL.
