If you’re starting out, or a student I’d consider caring less about the platform and more about just getting your work out in the public period. I’d say the platform is dependent on just budget and your personal sensibilities regarding that platform. Don’t get lost in the weeds of who’s got the best SEO options or any of that until you’re up and running and showcasing your best work!! You can always switch platforms once you become comfortable and understand what you’re missing. But first things first…get your work out there!!

La créativité est un levier puissant pour faire passer un message. Afin de démontrer qui je suis, je choisis de présenter des projets qui me représentent et me ressemblent. Ceux pour lesquels j'ai ressenti du plaisir à les concevoir, ceux dont je suis fière et si possible, ceux qui ont re?u de bons commentaires. Par contre, nous devons démontrer que nous sommes en mesure de nous adapter aux besoins des clients ainsi qu'aux bonnes pratiques du métier. Donc, j'opte aussi pour du contenu diversifié.

In my experience always aim to pick the project that excited you personally. Those are always the best. If you were excited and truly passionate about that project, no matter the context of that project…you, yourself and thee will always be present in the piece. Your sensibilities, style, signatures, you name it. They’ll be all over the piece simply because you put yourself into it!

In most cases, the work you put on your demo reel will be the final product of the work of many artists contributing to the same scene of a film or commercial. Your job is to point out what exactly you added to it that made it possible. Too many times, you'll be overlooked for a position because you failed to add a description sheet, detailing what you did as an artist to help complete a spot or scene .
