While there may be a few effective strategies, from experience, I believe the most effective are customer feedback, your sales value over time and your customer retention or repeat business frequency. It beats other tools what rely on some sort of analytics. True human interaction trumps any other thing in regards to the effect of storytelling. This is my personal opinion
