I have worked with organizations with and without a facilities professional in a senior leadership role. Organizations with a head of facilities are better connected with the executive leadership to align the FM team and strategy with the organization's goals and vision. Additionally, the FM leadership role is needed to communicate challenges, concerns, and abilities to executive leadership to provide an understanding of realistic expectations and goals.
