No company, no leader, and no employee can afford to take a day off from worrying about safety. One little mistake can have serious consequences, which is why it is important to build a safety culture and to be a focal point on a daily basis.

One way to start of a safety culture is creating a safety framework which will define the safety process from vision, objectives, expectations, feedback etc. Then develop a policy to safeguard the safety framework. Allow your stakeholders to contribute to the policy development or input their opinions. This will allow them to own the policy and also to internalize the policy which will then become easy for them to know the content, and expectations. Train your people, and establish a safety committee which shall conduct safety initiatives to cultivate the safety culture. Measure progress and success, evaluate and monitor the framework throughout.
