What are the most effective ways to communicate with parents about distance learning?

Online courses can be more fun and interactive if the students get the opportunity to brainstorm and work through assignments alone or in groups. This helps improve student engagement and thus, their academic performance. They will learn to tackle problems on their own and will also learn how to work with a team. Online learning offers the expectation of more interaction and engagement between students and their peers and teachers. With online tools such as discussion boards, video conferencing, and virtual classrooms, students can interact with their peers and teachers in real time.

There are lots of available channels for distance learning. The proper pre-assessment of the context, accessibility, and acceptance can help educators select the right channels for distance learning for the learners and keep parents on the same page.

During the 1st year of COVID, I paired the standard newsletter (emailed) with a 3 minute "highlights" video. More parents watched the video (sometimes in pickup line) than read the newsletter (I rhink... from comments!). Though it's not "distance learning," communicating through video in brief but regular clips is something I'd continue.

During Covid-19, we identified so many ways to communicate to parents. WhatsApp proved itself the best of all communication means during distant learning. It's almost easy for every one to use it and enjoy the facility of communication.

Multi-channel learning is based on the idea that the more you use a learning channel, the greater the chances of successful learning and transferring what you learn to situations we face in our daily lives. The learning channels are employed in a mutually reinforcing way.

Online Platforms/ Distance learning provides personalized learning is an approach to education that tailors teaching to individual students'abilities, learning styles, interests, and preferences. It is an effective way of promoting student engagement, motivation, and achievement. However, personalized learning can only be effective if it includes timely, meaningful, and relevant feedback

Effective ways to communicate with parents about distance learning: 1. Clear and timely updates regarding schedules, expectation and any other changes.. 2. Use multiple communication channels to reach parents. 3. Personalized communication to fulfillindividual needs and parent's concern . 4. Provide resources and support luke guides , mentors , workshops . 5. Encourage feedback ,encourage parents to provide feedback on their experience with distance learning and any challenges they may encounter 6. Cultural sensitivity like support multiple languages and facility of translations. 7. Transparency. 8. Celebrate achievements. 9. Support networks. 10. Ensure that communication materials and platforms are accessible to all parents.

Shared resources refers to an outsourcing delivery (or engagement) model in which an institution's students , or resources, are shared among different teams and programs. This means resources can support multiple students, service lines and industries at the same time. Resource sharing is an important and widely well-known concept in the field of library science. The concept recognised by the term 'library networking' deals with the interconnection of libraries so that the participating libraries can share the information and resources effectively.
