its exactly like how you promote your company's products and services! you should convince your buyer ( in this case, your employer or boss!) that you worth more than before! so you need to picture a list of your unique values, why you can do your job better than other experts in industry and promise steady growth to them. it doesn't need to be mentioned that customers don't pay for over price products and services, and they compare you with other providers!

It is critical to have a clear understanding of the needs of the role as well as the hiring manager. How do you find this out? It's simple....ask them. Examples of questions can include: 1. What is the current and most critical need for this role? 2. How has this current need developed? 3. Are they looking for someone to take over a role as it is now or are they more focused on development. 4. Will the focus of this role be static or fluid?

If you ask what you’re employed for in terms of numbers - Number of calls booked, Number of meeting scheduled, Number of calls answered, Etc You can work from the base of the number you’re expected to do for your wage. Really simply just ask how quickly they can sort the 10% pay rise for 10% more, 20% for 20% etc. If they aren’t willing to reward you for the work you are doing, it’s a great sign for you to choose a new boss.

As an SDR who got promoted (twice) in 18 months, I believe the following qualities/attributes were essential to my growth: 1. Figure out what you want to do next- you might want to continue being an SDR, or move on to closing deals, or even branch out into marketing or partnerships 2. Craft a plan- all good things take time. Build out a structured plan to upskilling yourself and making you a good candidate for your desired goal 3. SPEAK UP- As SDRs are (usually) the first part of the sales cycle, our work often gets forgotten. Ensure to bring out the holistic impact of your work- not just the # of opportunities & $$ pipeline generated, but also how many of the deals closed, and what kind of brands/logos they are.

If you don’t ask, you don’t get. You’ll be able to find out everything you need to about your current employer when you talk logically to them about what you are employed for. Once you know what your pay equates to in terms of work done, it’s easy to negotiate more pay for more work (that most people do, without extra pay!)
