You can use various sources of information, such as market research, competitor analysis, user feedback, surveys, interviews, and analytics to identify your potential users. Aim to collect both quantitative and qualitative data to get a comprehensive picture of your target audience. Consider their demographics (age, gender, location, education, income, occupation), psychographics (interests, values, attitudes, motivations, pain points), behavior (habits, patterns, frequency, duration, channels, devices) and goals (what they want to achieve and how they measure success). Do your market research and competitor analysis first. Deep dive into your competitors' end users and the variety of values and messages they communicate with their users. Which pain points are being highlighted most? What are the positive impact those apps bring to users' life? What is before and after usage look like? I also benefited most from user feedback sessions and surveys. I hear you loud and clear - people don't take surveys! Incentivize them with discounts, special offers, and free usage. 2 Segment your target audience

The second step is to segment your target audience, or to divide it into smaller groups based on similar characteristics or needs. Segmentation helps you focus on the most relevant and profitable segments, and tailor your mobile application to their specific requirements. You can use criteria such as geography, demography, psychography, behavior, and needs to segment your target audience. For example, geography may include location, climate, culture, and language; demography may include age, gender, income, and education; psychography may include lifestyle and personality; behavior may include usage, loyalty, and engagement; and needs may include problems, solutions, and benefits.

I always start with geographical points as they are tied to language (the language of your app matters!). Before pouring the resources into adding a new language to our app, starting with what you have is more convenient. For example, the language of your app is English; do not complicate it by trying to find a PMF in LATAM yet. Start with English native countries and build on cultural points. One uncommon tactic I use is to match each feature with a segment with a high probability of using the matched feature. This gives me a massive playground to tailor my messaging, specify the channels I reach each persona, and ultimately, results in higher conversion!

3 Create your user persona

The third step is to create a user persona, or a detailed profile of a typical user from each segment. You can use a template or a tool, or simply write a narrative that describes the user's background, characteristics, and behavior. Your user persona should include a fictional name that reflects their segment and personality, a realistic photo that represents their appearance and style, their demographics (age, gender, location, education, income, occupation, etc.), psychographics (interests, values, attitudes, motivations, pain points, etc.), behavior (habits, patterns, frequency, duration, channels, devices, etc.), goals (what they want to achieve and how they measure success), and scenarios (how and when they use your mobile application).

Leverage Custom Product Pages As I mentioned earlier, each persona has different pain points. To close the information gap in our social promotions and paid ads, we created custom product pages highlighting one specific solution related to that persona's pain point. We created a "weight loss" themed custom page for one of my clients (breathwork app). The CTR increased by 427%, and trial rates increased by 188%. This is a huge chance! The app store allows us to create up to 36 custom pages. I encourage you to leverage them all!
