Communication Skills is perhaps the most overrated skill in the world. I am not saying it isn't important. How important it is to every role is grossly misunderstood. Before you start believing the online coaches and various adverts telling you how you can grow exponentially if you learn public speaking, STOP, PAUSE and REFLECT. What Industry am I in? What is my ideal role? How much of Public speaking is really needed in this career path? How much of it is interpersonal effectiveness? Does my role require "Obama" like communication skills ? Or is my role restricted to talking to 5 to 10 people and presenting information to them? The skills required to learn effective communication with 5 to 10 people can take a lot less effort to develop
