With scenario based role-playing I think it's really helpful to go full circle. Manager watches a customer interaction and delivers coaching/feedback to their team member. Coach watches the full interaction and gives coaching to the manager. If you do a series of role plays in quick succession with coaching in between it gives the opportunity to try and embed new techniques. Real growth in a quick time period.

Improvisation role-playing involves responding to unexpected or spontaneous situations that require you to think on your feet and be creative. For example, you might have to deal with a crisis, a change, a question, or a complaint. You might want to consider benchmarking against a defined criteria with any of the role playing. Do an initial baseline then make some capability development interventions then do a follow up role play to see if progress has been made. Even better, do one 6 months later too to see if the new behaviour has been embedded.
