Yes it is very important tov set clear goals and expectations for both mentee and mentor because of these things are not clear then it can lead to conflicts and dissatisfactions later. The mentor and mentee understand their boundaries and respect each other and their time. For example once i was mentoring one of my juniors for a public speaking contest that he had taken part in, he did not inform me that he expected me to sit with him daily for 2 hours and give him mentorship which was not possible for me, so things like these need to be cleared beforehand itself.
