The most effective leadership strategies for international teams are based on two simple insights: a. no culture or workstyle is superior to any other and b. it makes no sense to ask a fish to climb a tree. In Western countries there are many books on subjects like time management, setting timelines and milestones etc. However, depending on the situation, Trial and Error might turn out to be the better strategy. Therefore, listen to all ideas how to run the project in hand. Accordingly, know your team members and think carefully about who gets which task. "Fish" people are excellent in swimming and rushing around, but to climb a tree you better include a "Cat" person. Even better, give the job to a "Bird" and skip the climbing altogether.
