By noting down your goals you'll get on of the biggest part of work done. - Choose one goal (priority) for a certain period of time, e.g. for 1 month, e.g. conflict management - Check what is needed to achieve that goal and think minimal in this. You do not need to be a master at a skill right away but rather focus on acquiring that skill for now. - Sign up for a course, ask a mentor to support you, or buy a book to read in the topic - After one month, evaluate your progress. If you completed your goal, choose another one for 1 month again. You will get there - just keep your focus on your goals!

Rather than rely on the SMART goals or traditional goal setting measure alone, creating powerful intentions for improvement keeps the leader motivated and engaged. A practice used with my clients is to use the 5s for powerful intentions: - Simple to recall - Shaped by beliefs - Sparked by an idea - Stays positive - So what? The intention answers the question of "so what?" and is unforgettable for the leader. Recalling the intention, which is aligned to the goal, means action plans and next steps are organic. The leader sets the intention, takes action and moves forward.
