Absolutely, although I have sometimes written full-detailed and extensive mails (to be honest, sometimes I still do) I have found that easy to read mails are, in fact, read. One of my tips is to set categories in the subject line, using brackets. For example: "[Project A] [Finances] Wrong invoice" so the person that receive the mail immediatly gets an idea what the mail is going to be about. Then, I try to provide all the information that that person would need to solve the problem in bullet points and end my mails with a clear, non ambiguous sentence (just one) summarizing what I am asking to be done.
