What are the most effective design strategies for employee engagement?

We use what we call the Shakespeare model. Make people laugh, cry, think, or feel. Ideally, all four. That drives action, and without that, no design truly works. To paraphrase Paul Rand, Design is only good if it communicates. Your audience probably doesn't know what it wants because employees don't think about the design of employee engagement communications. So impress them. Surprise them. Engage them. Laugh, cry, think or feel. Or all four. That's all that will matter.

We should design everything according to our audience, and since our audience is human, we should create content that resonates with human feelings. Additionally, for employees, we should consider their feelings in our design.

Human-centered Design is a brilliant way to have tangible impact on humans with real world problems. Making my customers' problems my problems while showing them legitimate empathy for their situation is usually met with a mixture of surprise and enthusiasm. From my experience this type of problem solving is rare within the government, and it's much more common that the people being 'helped' are told how to work around the issue rather through it. I just hope that human centered design continues to gain traction.

I have been in this profession for a long time, I try to understand their emotions and work on them, to understand the sweetness of their heart, what they want.

In my experience, when gamifying communication elements, it is important to make it simple, immersive entertaining and most importantly to not dilute the main message or intention of messaging.

Details matter, caring about employee's achievements and giving a feedback, reward is very valid to encourage their development. Mistakes too, I believe it should be taken in consideration as important as an achievement well succeeded. By acknowledging it it can demonstrate that there is nothing wrong on trying, wrong would be thinking the first idea was the only one.

It's just a little trick to make people feel good about the achievement they made or didn't make. That little burst of happines or joy can increase people's will to do more and collect more.

In my opinion, when included gamification elements, a healthy competition between employees are generated where the constantly tries to improve themselves for the reward which benefit the corporate in large scale as a set of employees work harder than ever.

Firstly, focus on authenticity and relevance; stories should align with the team's challenges, successes, and values. There is no global usability in a campaign without application integration tools for people with disabilities. Disregarding this is a brand value failure and diminishes engagement in campaigns.

When people lack purpose, no well-being and sustainibility concepts can help, they will make an illusion that everything is okay, but it's not. So, people need to find their purpose, to execute and live by complete righteousness and there will not be burnouts, steess or anything. If people tried by all of their hart to do only complete good, there will no lack.

My personal view is that employee well-being and sustainability should be prioritised in the workplace. In my experience, some specific strategies that have had a positive impact are; flexible work arrangements to support a work-life balance, strategically designed workspaces to encourage physical activity and support mental-health through dedicated relaxation and mindfulness areas, aligning company values with sustainable initiatives, communicating transparency about eco-friendly practices, incentivising sustainable commuting options or establishing a wellness program that promotes healthy habits. All of these example will cultivate a workplace that values both its employees and the planet.

Not every company really measure their design or any visual that they publish. If you are a new designer, don't worry too much about measuring your design or worry about something like whether my design is impactful or not. What you need to understand is how you can deliver what is the best for your client/company. However, does measuring and testing your design really important? Yes it is at some point, but if you want to do it, do it in a scientific way. Meaning, you have to learn it from a real scientific research method. That way your design measurement will be more objective, less bias and has a more universal way of research.

Opinion polls are indispensable before the launch of any product. Combined with the information provided by KPIs once launched, they allow us to make decisions about the future. Conducting A/B tests during campaign launches also provides valuable information

Having online polls and live polls periodically goes a long way to creating a healthy communication culture and consistency in how the organization communicates to its people.

This topic is corellated with other aspects such as copywriting performing, targeting, etc. Design is just the vehicle to drive you from point A to point B, other components of that vehicle are copywriting (clutch), brand message (brake) etc. It's not just the design itself takes all the light from the show. But it helps to catch eyeballs, yes.

User experience it’s all about feedbacks, testing and iterating, that’s how we learn and add value and do better next time, hence, testing is the backbone for a good user experience.

Keep it simple. Don’t over complicate things. What ever the product is, it needs to be understood at a child’s level before we go offloading with the big gun jargon! Tailor the conversation with the person when you get a feel for their level of knowledge. Slowly. Wait for that eureka moment then run with that vibe.
