1 Capacity factor

The capacity factor (CF) is the ratio of the actual energy output of a project to the maximum possible output if it operated at full power all the time. It reflects how well a project utilizes its installed capacity and how reliable it is. For example, a solar project with a 10 MW capacity that produces 15,000 MWh of energy in a year has a CF of 17%. The CF of renewable energy projects depends on factors such as resource availability, weather conditions, technology efficiency, and maintenance. Generally, higher CFs indicate better performance and lower costs per unit of energy.

2 Levelized cost of energy

The levelized cost of energy (LCOE) is the average cost of producing one unit of energy over the lifetime of a project. It includes both the capital and operating costs, as well as the discount rate that reflects the time value of money. The LCOE can be used to compare the competitiveness of different energy sources and technologies, as well as the impact of policies and incentives. For example, a wind project with a LCOE of $50/MWh is cheaper than a coal project with a LCOE of $70/MWh, but more expensive than a natural gas project with a LCOE of $40/MWh. 3 Net present value

The net present value (NPV) is the difference between the present value of the cash inflows and outflows of a project. It measures the profitability and attractiveness of a project as an investment option. A positive NPV means that the project generates more value than its cost, while a negative NPV means the opposite. The NPV depends on the assumptions and projections of the cash flows, as well as the discount rate that reflects the risk and opportunity cost of the project. For example, a solar project with a NPV of $10 million is more desirable than a hydro project with a NPV of $5 million, assuming the same discount rate.

4 Internal rate of return

The internal rate of return (IRR) is the discount rate that makes the NPV of a project equal to zero. It represents the annualized return on investment of a project. A higher IRR means a more profitable and efficient project, while a lower IRR means a less attractive and risky project. The IRR can be used to compare projects with different sizes, lifetimes, and cash flow patterns, as well as to evaluate the feasibility and breakeven point of a project. For example, a biomass project with an IRR of 15% is more preferable than a geothermal project with an IRR of 10%, assuming the same initial investment.

5 Greenhouse gas emissions

The greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) that a project emits or avoids over its lifetime. They reflect the environmental impact and benefit of a project in terms of mitigating climate change and reducing air pollution. The GHG emissions can be calculated by multiplying the energy output of a project by the emission factor of the energy source or technology. For example, a wind project with an energy output of 20,000 MWh and an emission factor of 0.01 kg CO2e/kWh has a GHG emission of 200 tonnes CO2e, while a coal project with the same energy output and an emission factor of 0.9 kg CO2e/kWh has a GHG emission of 18,000 tonnes CO2e.

6 Social acceptance

The social acceptance is the degree of support or opposition that a project receives from various stakeholders, such as communities, customers, regulators, and investors. It reflects the social impact and value of a project in terms of creating jobs, enhancing local development, improving quality of life, and respecting human rights and cultural diversity. The social acceptance can be measured by using surveys, interviews, focus groups, or other methods to collect and analyze the opinions, attitudes, preferences, and expectations of the stakeholders. For example, a hydro project with a high social acceptance has a positive reputation and a strong relationship with the local community, while a solar project with a low social acceptance faces resistance and complaints from the landowners and neighbors.

I propose another metrics (KPI)as follows: "The amount of fossil resource(Hydrocarbons) consumption in tonnes that could be ommited (substituted) by execution a renewable energy project Because the main problem of climate crisis is usage of non-renewable fossil resources.
