What are the latest trends and innovations in process engineering that you are following or applying?

It always good to follow the process down Stream to a human view of the pending question or suggestion as to refining the enginering flow.

This true but where the environment is set practice as to engineering a company can participate in providing out side out vender to manage any and all issues like tires....key issues but working with key recycling groups in a given market this reduce any and all issues back to the manufacturers

Smart sensors are helping break down the Purdue model that we are so familiar with in manufacturing. IIoT with smart sensors is changing that. It enables the connection and communication of machines, devices, and sensors in industrial settings, allowing for real-time data collection and analysis, predictive maintenance, and increased efficiency and productivity

At oem sites there work very well.FORD Oakville uses thers in the backing and it reduces solvent flash off thus reducing rework

Sensors are not the same as devices. Sensors connect to devices. This term is often used incorrectly. Smart Devices is correct. They are the onboard computing which does the actual analog to digital conversion of the sensor, signal processing, curve/linear fitting, offsets, diagnostics, communications, etc. Most sensors by themselves aren’t “smart” at all. There are a few exceptions, but arguably those smart sensors are merely a sensor with a smaller device in them, connected to the parent Smart Device. Sensors don’t control processes or optimize them either. Smart Devices that have Field Control can. Traditional hardwired devices can provide the same measurement data. An IoT sensor, is not the only answer.

I’ve been involved in Additive Manufacturing /3D Printing for 30 years this year and it’s an amazing industry. But, people need to look at it as just another tool that hey can use to help them solve a manufacturing problem. You can combine it with other technologies to get the best and most effective result. When people start to do this the manufacturing and 3D Printing industry will open up so many new Applications that have never been done before. #thinkoutsidethecube

I have been associated with Oil and Gas industry for past 6+ years, frequently, we need to go for mixing of gases with different composition, thus ensuring the output/resultant gas specification as per sales contract is critical. Correct estimation of sales gas compositions, especially, Hydrocarbon Dew Point, C6+ contents of gas, CO2 etc has become very convenient and time saving though softwares like Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus compare to tradition MS Excel based Material & Energy balance calculations (Which takes a bit longer). We always verify the actual results through laboratory analysis, but results and softwares estimations are almost/always in close proximity. So, to answer the question, i have been finding these softwares very helpful.
