It can clean up audio associated with a poorly placed microphone, excessive background noise, or even archive footage with lousy audio. Manually cleaning up poor audio is exceptionally challenging and time-consuming. With Enhance Speech, Adobe users get significantly better audio in just a few clicks. To start using it open the Essential Sound panel in Premiere Pro and select Enhance to start the analysis.

We have been providing transcription, auto-captioning and translation for years. While transcription and auto-captioning in the original language is pretty straight-forward, translation is not. IMPORTANT NOTE: Translation is DIFFERENT from interpretation. Machines can only translate, humans interpret. The difference is context. Some lessons learnt to achieve higher translation accuracy: 1) Punctuation, sentence structure and grammar is important. 2) Try to translate full sentences 3) The only way to get near 100% accuracy is to incorporate workflow into the process where humans can edit the final captions.

Even before the pandemic, we have been using AI to extract data and insights from audio. For example, we create tags in multiple languages (from a single language video) to improve SEO. We are also able to perform analysis in multiple languages, transform and consolidate into a single language. However, one difficulty is language translation (vs. interpretation). But if speed and scale is needed, then only AI can perform such tasks.

The last frontier for video tech is the ability to index and search videos. Meaning, the ability to search for a particular scene from a long form video. One of the most used phrase in Star Wars is "May the Force be with you". We have developed a video search engine that help users find all the scenes where this phrase is said. Beyond using just audio, we also use a multimodal AI approach to create tags from the videos (e.g. labels, objects, logos, etc.). Thus, create a new category of Video Big Data.
