Get a solid education, gain practical experience, keep up to the latest trends, build a professional network and ultimately demonstrate your value are basics steps for all carriers really! In my opinion a successful carrier is a result for dedication, transparency, commitment and hard working. But anyway, if I had to pick up one topic I would say networking is key. In this aspect, focus on long term professional relationships and follow a basic advice of George Bernard Shaw “Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same."

Many of the wireline service companies that put the tools down wells to gather data will start you off in the field. so if you choose a route with one of these organisations be prepared to travel a lot in your first few years.
