I struggled in my early stages as a researcher. The main reason I think was that I would jump so early to make conclusions and write the paper itself. I realized that while I had interesting topics to research about, I did not have clear research questions. Thus, crafting a well-defined research question is key to a scientific journey. Ofcourse let us not forget curiosity, humility, and patience.

I have some tips: -if it is convenient, do multiple experiments with varying 1 parameter of reaction conditions at once (same day, same stock solution, etc). It would allow for comprehensive comparison among the experiments, thus, give you accurate results on the effect of that parameter. -I usually do a control experiment (the one I already know how it works in the setup) along with new experiment to test the conditions of the experimental setup (stock solution is still working fine, the heat control is still fine,...). Maybe something with your experimental setup goes wrong, not your new experiments themselves. -Sometimes, repeat failed key experiments can help. At least to rule out some mistakes you might have made.
