In my experience, when presenting a new analysis or project it helps to show your audience a data model which can be as simple as a flow chart showing how the different components of your project interact with each other. It helps to concretise an often abstract concept. In a previous project we started our pitch to the team with a flow diagram outlining the data sources, key persons, users, and processes working inside the tool we had developed.

Some well known types are as follows:- 1. Relational Model: Organizes data into tables (relations) consisting of rows (tuples) and columns (attributes). It uses SQL (Structured Query Language) for querying and managing data. 2. Entity-Relationship Model (ER Model): Represents entities, relationships between them, and attributes. It's widely used in database design. 3. Object-Oriented Model: Represents data as objects, similar to object-oriented programming concepts. Objects encapsulate data and behavior. 4. Network Model: Represents data as records and sets, interconnected through pointers. It organizes data as a collection of records that can have multiple parent and child records.

Implementation: Implement the physical model by creating the database tables, indices, & other necessary structures. Testing & Maintenance: Test the data model for accuracy, integrity, & performance, & maintain it as business evolves.

Often data analysts conceive of the process in steps: pre-staging, gathering the data repositories, then, staging, should the data be sorted from hi to low, by group, with a calculation. The last step is the presentation! Show the data on a table, as a bar chart or both, in Dashboards (think Tableau, SSRS/SSIS, Python). Educators implore us to consider converting data into tabular form at least and in an indexable way to be thorough (sql). Tabular data requires using column headings and calculated columns, unit cost x quantity. Indexable data require adding reference columns and would give a product i.d., category i.d., qty and price, side tables would include the i.d. and the product names. Presentation view would join these tables.

In fact, it is possible that the problem or process that was originally considered to be worked on using Artificial Intelligence may need to be redefined as a result of the application of EDA.

Data modeling can be as good as the data. However, the data may be open to interpretation: Joe's team sells Nike shoes better than Frank's team who sells New Balance . Data suggests that Nike sells better, but Joe's team is larger. When doubling Frank's team we find New Balance sold more. Research suggests Nike is a superior ishow but not the best seller. Managers often know this, so data can confirm theory that is known to a specific expert. If data shows that New Balance costs are lower, then New Balance is winning at price. Finally, if the data is not refreshed as regularly for Nike as it is at New Balance we may be comparing out of synch data. Normalizing the data collection strategy to limiting the risk to validity is a case.

If the model is internal to the analytics team or specific the creator, then adoption is not much of an issue. However, the end user does not fully understand the value of the model or to properly use it, the final product will be shelved. I've seen fantastic models and visitations created by brilliant data minded individuals, yet they failed to consider how the final product will live on without them. To create a self-service data organization, the data must be easily digested by non-data minded individuals. Data is an incredibly valuable asset, but we have to help others understand and utilize that value. Be end user focused.
